A little over a month into his time here on this planet, Han decides he should probably find a job. His smuggling reputation hadn't followed him here, he's not known in any circles other than the one that's followed him from his galaxy and maybe, to a certain point, Beth's, which doesn't exactly make it easy on him to find anyone who needs to get a job done. A job that pays big and under the table, anyway. The monthly allotment of cash the city provides is helpful but between rent and food and regular visits to the various bars he's come to favor, Han's finding it just isn't enough. He needs money, and he needs it consistently.
The first thing he considers is something to do with putting things back together. A mechanic, maybe, he's been doing work on the Falcon since he'd found Rey with it, after all. The glaring problem is, of course, he has no idea how to go about repairing things like cars, that's not his expertise. Ships, that's what he's good at tinkering with, but that's not exactly a valuable skillset in Darrow.
Eventually, after taking a break to visit one bar in particular that he'd only just discovered the other night, Semele's, Han watches the bartender pour drinks and nod attentively to the other patrons sitting at the counter with a bit more fascination than usual. He could do that, he thinks, he could be a bartender. He'd tell people who need shaping up to shape up, he's well-versed in going head-to-head with anyone who might be trouble and anyway, Han's seen the tips people slide over at the various places he's been. With the right crowd, he could make a ton of money. Besides that, there seems to be a wide variety of people who frequent this place so maybe if he's lucky, he'll even score a few extra jobs on the side to boost his earnings.
"Hey," he calls out to the bartender, gesturing for the guy to come over to him. "Get the owner for me, would ya? Got something I'd like to talk about."
